The 2007 Election

Remember to vote on November 6. Your elected officials have a dramatic influence on funding and other measures that impact the arts as well as a myriad of other issues important to you and your community.

Campaign season is a great time to get acquainted with candidates—let them know who you are, why you care about the arts, and what the arts do for your community. This is a time when candidates are working to build relationships with constituents. Once the legislative session begins in January, Legislators are busy and relationships are difficult to start. But if you’ve done your work during the campaign, you can use your existing rapport with your representative to ask for support on specific issues.
